Boro of Pillow, Dauphin County, PA
Located at the extreme northernmost point of Dauphin County, bounded on the East, the North, and the West by the Mahantango creek, and to the South by the Mahantango Mountain, lies a small town with a quaint look, a comfortable feel, a beautiful vista, and a cordial bunch of residents. This is the boro of Pillow.

There are countless intriguing bits of information about this little town ....... even its name has been the subject of some controversy over the years. This, and many other subjects will be discussed in the pages of this site. To tweak your interest,  we'll tell you that this photo is of none other than General Gideon Johnson Pillow,   of Tennessee, after whom it is believed that our town was named.

The story of how our town took his name, and how his career took a dramatic turn for the worse almost immediately thereafter seems a strange twist of fate. Read about it in the "history book project" section of the site!

THE HISTORY BOOKS ARE HERE! ... THE HISTORY BOOKS ARE HERE! CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO!!

For those who may not already know, Pillow Boro has recently commissioned a committee to research and compile the History of this town and its surrounding communities, and to publish a history book on the information gathered. Please browse that section, and feel free to post comments, suggestions, or historical contributions there. We welcome any and all information!

In addition to being a historical resource, this site will serve as a current guide to the services and businesses available in the Pillow area.

We hope you will find this website interesting, informative, educational, and maybe even a little entertaining! Enjoy!
